Texas Memorial Life Insurance Company (“Texas Memorial”), was found to be insolvent and ordered liquidated by a Travis County court on June 10, 2009.  Texas Memorial sold life insurance policies and annuity contracts in conjunction with preneed funeral service contracts sold by or through funeral homes by an affiliated non-insurance company, Texas Memorial Administrators.

As a result of the liquidation, the Texas Life, Accident, Health and Hospital Service Insurance Guaranty Association ("the Associaiton") is required under Texas law to continue the insurance policies and annuity contracts, including the collection of premiums and payment of benefits, subject to the terms and provisions of the Texas Memorial insurance policies and the limitations in the Association’s governing statute, Chapter 463 of the Texas Insurance Code.  The administration of these insurance policies and annuity contracts is being performed from the Association's offices.
